About My Work

I have been a photographer for as long as I can remember, and photography has always been an important constant in my life. For the past ten years my images have been almost exclusively of nature and particularly wildlife. Watching a wild creature, perfectly suited to its time and place in the world is a joyful experience; and sharing those moments with photographs is a great privilege.

Photography has always been about capturing in a single image, the essence of a special moment and place. Regardless of the technology used, making a photograph is fundamentally a matter of selection, interpretation, and presentation. In its most perfect form, the photograph draws the viewer into the experience on both an emotional and intellectual level.

Our world is beautiful place, and we should celebrate what is right with it while striving at the same time to better our stewardship. I would like my photographs to bring home vignettes of that celebration - the delicacy of a flower, the tranquility of the landscape, the grace of flight, the tenderness of a new mother with her young. These are the memories that restore us and remind us of our place and responsibility in the natural order.
